Brian McKee is an artist who lives in Joliet with his wife Eileen and their two children, Cameron and Jack. He makes his living as many artists do: a little bit of everything! Brian has made scenery for television, painted signs for Budweiser, and was a scenic artist in Florida at Disney and Universal theme parks. He is now working at Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox and teaching bagpipes. Brian started on the pipes in 1975 having learned from his uncle, Dave McKee, who played with the Chicago Stockyards Kilty Band for over 60 years. Brian played with the band for 22 years and had many great and memorable experiences playing everything from sporting events like opening day at the old Comiskey Park to Illinois St. Andrew’s Society banquets at the Hilton, and by chance even ended up in a chase scene down Dearborn Street in The Fugitive. Brian also played in the Orlando Police and Fire Brigade Pipe Band as well as the Chicago Caledonian Pipes and Drums. He joined the Chicago Scots Pipe Band in 2014 and now enjoys playing in the City of Chicago Pipe Band.
