Chris Stuart started her percussion career rather late in life as a way of spending quality time with her snare drumming daughter who played in a local pipe band. Chris began as a tenor drummer and worked her way into the competition circle with Tunes of Glory. While initially picking up snare sticks as a way of enhancing her tenor skills, she quickly realized snare was her true passion. She moved to the Chicago Highlanders to start competing as a snare drummer before moving on to Chicago Academy of Piping and Drumming where she served as leading drummer. Chris currently plays snare with the City of Chicago Pipe Band as well as in solo competitions. Participating in the pipe band environment has afforded many memorable opportunities including playing at a Chicago Bulls game and at the House of Blues with Gaelic Storm.
