Mary Pearce’s passion for music began as a child watching her grandfather play a variety of musical instruments which led to her love for all forms of dance, especially Polish folk, flamenco, and Latin dance. For many years, Mary performed with the Lechici Dancers, the oldest Polish folk dance ensemble in the Chicagoland area. After dance, she was interested in pursuing other forms of music and in 2010 Mary was introduced to the world Scottish piping and drumming by one of her very good friends. That same year she joined the Chicago Celtic Pipe Band as a tenor drummer and spent 3 enjoyable years in the midsection. Over the next couple of years, she took a break from competitive drumming to start a family and briefly performed with the performance drum corps, Bangers and Mash. In 2016, Mary returned to tenor drumming with the City of Chicago Pipe Band. Away from drumming, Mary likes to travel and spend time with her husband and three children.
