Interested in embracing his Scottish heritage, Ross started learning pipes in 2015 as a student of the Chicago Academy of Piping and Drumming educational program. After progressing from a total beginner on chanter to playing on pipes, he began parading with the City of Chicago Pipe Band in 2018. That same year Ross played his first competitions with the band’s Grade 5 development group which advanced to Grade 4 going into the 2019 season.
